Email-aggregator Fuser veered in a slightly different direction with the launching of the MySpace and Facebook applications where you can access and interact with messages from the other accounts, but that doesn’t mean we should forget about its core service. Fuser has recently added support for Twitter updates, meaning you can submit your status to your Twitter followers directly from your Fuser account.

There are a number of services that already include Twitter updates, and more are even turning to automated Twitter updates as a byproduct of the rebroadcasting services that they’re looking to offer (WorldTV’s integration of Qik, for example). But something to note with Fuser’s integration is that the trend for more complex services, especially those that revolve around larger existing networks or clients such as email, are moving to directly allow Twitter updates, instead of through third-party mashups. And the forms of integrated lifestreaming is becoming more complex as well, as we’ve seen with MessageDance’s latest release, allowing you to blog from pretty much anywhere.

In the end, it’s clear that Twitter has continued to maintain its dominant status, despite downtime, a heavy reliance on external uses of its APIs, and a sometimes roundabout way of interacting with other forms of social media. The Twitter economy lives on.
